Math Teacher

“It is clear that the chief end of mathematical study must be to make the students think.” – attributed to John Wesley Young, American Mathematician

At St. Andrew School we teach our students how to think, not what to think. We believe nothing trains the mind to think as strategically and solidly as mathematics. And we believe every student should be proficient and confident in mathematics. If you agree, join us!

We’re looking for a credentialed/certified math teacher who can teach grades 5 through 12. We use Singapore curriculum in grades 5, 6 and 7, Saxon Algebra 1/2 in 8th grade, and Algebra 1 and 2 and Geometry in high school. Not only will you need to be knowledgeable in all these subjects, you’ll need to be able to teach a wide student age-and-skill range, as well as work through the occasional, “This is sooooo hard. Why do I have to learn this?”

You’ll be blessed with a supportive and generous school community that wants you to succeed, and a team of dedicated administrators, fellow teachers, and parents who work together to strengthen the Catholic and classical focus of our school.

When you’re not enriching students’ lives, you’ll enjoy all the amenities Helena has to offer. We’re minutes away from outdoor adventures, including skiing, water sports, hiking, biking and golf. Or you can join your new friends at one of our many local restaurants, breweries and coffee shops. Take in local theatre, an event at Carroll College, or a stroll through our historic downtown. And, of course, you’ll want to celebrate Mass at our stunning Cathedral of Saint Helena.

Apply now! We can’t wait to meet you.
