CURRICULUM

The curriculum at St. Andrew School emphasizes phonics, reading comprehension, spelling, grammar, mathematics, and study skills in the elementary years.

Courses in Latin begin in the fourth grade to strengthen English skills and lay the foundation for other language studies.

Junior high students continue studies in Latin as well as English grammar, literature, history, mathematics, science, and logic.

Religious education and fine arts courses unify the curriculum of each grade, with electives in Spanish, French, speech, and writing planned for future high school students.

Among the extra-curricular activities offered students are: drama, writer's guild, choir, band, "coal biters" (medieval studies) and "little sisters of St. Margaret" (encourages prayer and good works).
